Her mission was simple: seduce the prince, conceive his child, and betray him. Her heart had other plans.

Isca has always been able to feel what others hide—grief, anger, lust. Now that rare gift has made her valuable to the wrong people.

Sent to court under the pretense of diplomacy, she’s given a secret task by the Assembly of Mages: soothe the beast beneath Prince Emrys’ skin, seduce him, and conceive a child the Assembly can weaponize.

Refuse, and her family will pay the price. Obey, and she destroys the only man who has ever made her feel safe.

Because Emrys isn’t the monster they promised her. He’s violent, dangerous, and powerful enough to level mountains. But behind his glowing eyes is a lonely prince fighting not to become the thing everyone believes he is.

Isca finds herself falling for the beast she was never meant to love. A beast that seems determined to keep her. But if Emrys discovers her true mission, there may be nothing left standing when the monster breaks free.

Bound to the Broken Crown is book 1 of the Magebound Courts Trilogy featuring a tormented cursed prince, the empathic mage sent to calm his inner beast, and their slow-burn romance. This book contains spicy content and graphic combat violence, Suitable for readers aged 18+

My Review:

Bound to the Broken Crown is a moody, emotionally rich fantasy centered on duty, restraint, and the quiet devastation of forbidden desire. Its political, emotional, and romantic tension drives the story, creating an atmosphere that feels satisfyingly intense.

The dual POV was one of my favorite elements. Experiencing the story through both Isca and Emrys added depth and balance, especially because so much of the conflict depends on unspoken thoughts, suppressed feelings, and impossible choices. Emrys’s perspective brought particular nuance, making the emotional stakes feel even more layered.

The world is intriguing, but because the magic system and the Assembly are so central, I wanted more history and clarity about both. I also expected to learn more about Emrys’s mysterious curse. It is clearly important and compellingly teased, yet by the end I wanted deeper exploration and answers rather than breadcrumbs.

The flawed, compelling characters often make frustrating, yet believable choices shaped by duty, fear, and obligation. The romance is a slow burn fueled by restraint and unresolved tension. The intimate scenes are well written and emotionally charged, but after so much buildup, I wanted slightly more intensity or payoff.

Although the pacing dipped occasionally, the emotional throughline remained strong. Overall, this was an immersive, engaging read with a solid foundation, and I am eager to see how the magic, the Assembly, and Emrys’s curse develop in future installments.

This book gripped me from the first chapter. I could not put it down and sacrificed most of a night’s sleep to keep reading. For me, it belongs alongside the work of Anne Bishop and Ilona Andrews: beautifully written and worth returning to again and again. It is neither light nor relaxing; it pulls you in and wrings your heart.

The vivid details make the world feel real and immediate. I loved Emrys, the ideal tortured villain with his gruff, standoffish manner. Isca embodied a grace and calm I could only aspire to. The story offers enough resolution to avoid a cliffhanger while leaving me eager to discover what happens next and which character will take center stage.

Magick always has consequences. Some are worth it.

The growing pile of burnt cauldrons in Eva Sutton’s backyard says it all—she’s not the perfect witch. But her coven’s magick is fading, and now is her moment to step up.

Out of desperation, Eva casts a spell from a mysterious grimoire and ends up with a shockingly attractive, glasses-wearing demon in her living room.

Sorren doesn’t have time for this. He has to get back to his draining, uninspiring job. Hell won’t run itself, after all.

But Eva doesn’t know how to send Sorren back, and she hasn’t decided yet if the demon working remotely from her gardening shed is another problem or the solution her collapsing coven needs.

As they piece it all together, Sorren and Eva begin to realize that sometimes it takes an accident to find the life they were meant to live.

As for Eva? She’ll figure it all out as soon as she finds her keys.

My Review:

Okay, I finished this last night and I am still not over it. I honestly didn’t want it to end, I just wanted to curl up in this world and stay there. We’ve got a witch who hasn’t fully stepped into her powers yet, a mystery with her coven, and then she accidentally summons the hottest demon ever. And listen, I know “demon” should be a red flag, but Sorren? Walking green flag. Absolute everything. This was cozy, cute, a little dramatic, and had exactly the right amount of spice. Basically, it gave me everything I needed: magic, vibes, tension, and a whole lot of demon.

She was never artificial. Their love was never supposed to be real.

After spending weeks trapped in a cage, Lyssa is sold in her sleep to a telepathic, purple-scaled alien looking for the latest in A.I. technology. She’s forced to play the role of a companion android or be liquidated by a shady dealer to make room for new inventory.

Returning home with a synthetic companion for their lonely household, Terrald and his mates believe their new toy is defective. It can’t communicate and resists their commands. The moment they learn she can hear their mindvoices, they realize that they have purchased a living being.

Now Lyssa is stranded on an alien planet with three reptilian males who claim they want to protect and cherish her. But trust does not come easily to a woman who has been treated like merchandise. Should she leave and rebuild her life in the safety of a human sanctuary, or take the risk of opening herself up to the males who are determined to own her heart?

A.I. Human is a steamy why choose/reverse-harem sci-fi alien romance. It is a standalone in the interconnected Lietvia Galaxy series.

My Review:

I can’t speak for everyone, but I absolutely love alien romance. It’s my go-to comfort read whenever I need a pick-me-up, and honestly, there’s just something about an alien male who completely worships the FMC. This book puts a unique spin on that setup: the FMC is sold to an alien as an AI sex doll and goes along with it to survive. What she doesn’t know is that the alien who bought her plans to share her with his three male mates. Their world has a hive structure with one queen, giving the story major omegaverse-with-aliens vibes.

This book felt fresh and different, and I loved it from beginning to end. I was so hooked that I couldn’t put it down, my phone was basically glued to my hand all day. The writing was engaging, and the world-building was excellent. I love when an author pulls me so completely into their imagination, especially when they’ve built not just a world, but an entire universe. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone.

If you enjoy alien romance, monster romance, and a dark reverse harem, this one definitely belongs on your TBR. Just make sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in, because it does lean darker.

Blood has been stolen.
Bonds have been broken.
Brightlings are fading & hidden.
Darklings are unsated & starved.
The Stars no longer shine for guidance,
they burn with vengeance.

My Review:

This was an exceptional book. The opening world building made me unsure at first, but once I settled in, I could not stop reading. The characters are beautifully written, each with rich, distinct histories. I especially appreciated the thoughtful genderfluid representation. The FMC is flawed, frustrating, brave, loyal, and incredibly resilient, and the family dynamic among partners of multiple gender identities is presented simply and naturally as family. Well done.

Overall, I loved the characters, the spice, and the meaningful bonds between them. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

Brightling is a dark, spicy, emotional standalone that took a little time to pull me in because of the heavier opening world building, but once the story found its rhythm, I was fully invested. The characters are the highlight, with each Darkling adding a distinct personality and dynamic. Danika is a flawed but resilient FMC whose past, relationships, and healing journey drive much of the story.

Dark romance readers will find plenty to enjoy, including tension, banter, revenge, found family, diverse representation, and spice. I especially appreciated that the relationships go beyond the physical, with loyalty, forgiveness, consent, and healing woven throughout.

The standalone format is another big plus because the story feels complete without waiting for another book. Dark, filthy, emotional, and slightly unhinged, Brightling delivers.

I will be buying the physical copy for my trophy shelves!

It’s the near future USA. An algorithm now chooses your soulmate. But what happens when your heart chooses someone else?

A compulsively readable, slow-burn romance set in a dystopian world where science says who’s allowed to marry… and which loves are forbidden, from French Wattpad sensation Lyla Mars.

In the District State of New California, every resident is assigned a soulmate by the all-knowing Algorithma. A perfect match determined by science, not love.

Eliotte Wager has always known who she wants her match to be: Ashton Meeka, the boy she’s loved since childhood. But when the Matrimonial Office reveals her results, Eliotte learns she’s been paired not with Ashton, but with his older brother, Izaak—a man she hates. He’s cold, arrogant…and according to the data, he’s compatible.

Eliotte’s faith in the system has been shaky for years, but now, being forced into a marriage she doesn’t want, the world around her becomes unrecognizable. Izaak doesn’t believe in his father’s government, the Science that bound them together, or in love itself. Yet when his rebellion takes a perilous turn, Eliotte discovers the many cracks in the life she knew—and a side to Izaak she never expected.

As scandal erupts around their union and whispers of a revolution grow too loud to ignore, Eliotte and Izaak must rely on each other to survive. And in a system designed to control every move, giving in to what burns between them might be the one true choice they have.

My Review:

I really enjoyed the slow-burn romance and enemies to lovers tension between Eliotte and Izaak. Their relationship takes time to develop, and I liked watching all that resentment slowly turn into something more. The dystopian element also added an interesting layer, especially with the questions about love, free will, and whether an algorithm can really decide who you're meant to be with.

The beginning was a little slow for me, and I wanted more from the world building, but once the story picked up, I was definitely invested. The ending also left me wanting to know what happens next!

The Perfect Match is a fun mix of romance, dystopian drama, and rebellion. I liked how it asks whether love can really be decided by science and numbers.

Eliotte has always believed she is meant to be with Ashton Meeka. But when the Matrimonial Office says her perfect match is Ashton’s older brother, Izaak, she is shocked. She does not love him, and she can barely stand him. Still, the system says they are 98.8% compatible, and that seems to matter more than what she wants.

I really liked Eliotte and Izaak together. Their relationship has strong enemies-to-lovers tension, and it was fun watching them slowly open up to each other. Izaak seems cold and arrogant at first, but there is more to him than that. As Eliotte starts questioning the world she lives in, she also begins to see a new side of him.

The dystopian setting made the story more interesting. A government system that chooses who people marry is creepy, and I liked seeing Eliotte realize how much control the system has over her life. The rebellion, scandals, rivalries, and threat of revolution gave the story more depth beyond the romance.

The romance also had great tension. Forced proximity, fake marriage, forbidden feelings, and a love triangle all kept the story exciting. I especially liked the main question of the book: if a system tells you who your perfect match is, are your feelings real, or are you just following what the system wants?

This was a strong start to the I’m Not Your Soulmate series. The Perfect Match mixes romance and dystopian drama well, with characters I wanted to keep reading about and a world that made me excited for the next book.

Safety was never meant to feel like captivity.
Desire was never meant to feel like surrender.

After a devastating pandemic leaves humanity weakened, a human student receives an impossible entry into the world’s most elite vampire institution. It’s her chance to escape the crumbling city, to secure a future when so few remain — but coexistence is carefully curated, and protection comes with rules no one explains until it’s too late.

Vampires govern quietly from behind institutions, policy, and power. As their control tightens and humans lose the ability to choose freely, she finds herself caught between forces that claim to want her safe — and a system that no longer recognises consent.

But in the shadows of political machination, something else is stirring. Attraction that shouldn’t exist. Desire that blurs the lines between captor and companion. A connection that makes her question whether she’s fighting for freedom — or fighting what she actually wants.

As violence becomes sanctioned and power consolidates, she must navigate a world where morality is grey, autonomy is fragile, and the choice you’re given may not be real.

A dark, slow-burn dystopian romance where protection is dangerous, desire is forbidden, and surrender might be the only way to survive.
Book one of a series.

My Review:

Wow! A dystopian slow burn romance with vampires, enemies to lovers, and an academic setting? Sign me up! πŸ–€

I absolutely loved escaping into Sireva, where humans and vampires supposedly live in harmony, but the truth is far darker. Emery is barely surviving while working two jobs and attending college when she unexpectedly receives a scholarship to an elite vampire university. There she meets Dane Calder, a powerful vampire heir and the last person she needs to attract attention from.

The romance is deliciously slow burn, the tension is addictive, and Emery is a strong, sharp tongued FMC who refuses to be pushed around. I loved watching the secrets surrounding the vampires and their so called peaceful society unfold.

If you love vampires, dystopian worlds, enemies to lovers, and a romance that makes you want to scream at the characters, pick this one up! I am so glad there is a second book because I cannot wait to dive back into Sireva! πŸ–€πŸ§›‍♀️

Horses. Barn Maintenance. Training cowboys. Being a widowed father.

That’s my life, and the likelihood of that changing is slim.

At least, that’s what I thought.

Until them—Kayla and Collin.

My newest employees, who happen to be dating.

And living with me.

It never should have been an issue… but one night and too much whiskey changed everything. Now I’m walking away with a tattoo for my one true love and foggy memories of a night so forbidden, I’m questioning my entire existence.

But what’s even worse than my identity crisis?

It’s not recording our night or posting it online. And it’s not the guilt from finally moving on either.

No.

It’s the fact that my employees are the ones who rocked my world.

And now I want them more than anything.

My Review:

Miles took me on such a fun ride, and I loved how much story Tilly Ridge and C.S. Silverne packed into such a short book. The world and characters pulled me in quickly, and even though I finished wishing I could stay with them a little longer, the story never felt rushed or incomplete. If this universe ever gets expanded, I would happily come back for more.

This novella fully embraces its bold, wild energy, and that is exactly what made it so addictive. The chemistry, the tension, and the heat all hit hard, making it the kind of quick read that leaves a lasting impression. If you enjoy steamy romance with big emotions and a little chaos, this one is so easy to fall into.

Kayla grabbed my attention right away. Losing her job gives the story an instant spark, but it is her confidence, strength, and commanding presence that made me want to keep reading. The connection between Kayla, her boyfriend, and their boss brings in all the tension and cowboy romance appeal, and the MMF dynamic gives the story so much heat and emotion in such a short space.

The audiobook made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The narration brought out the sensuality and emotion of the story in a way that made it easy to get swept up in every moment. And the bloopers at the end were such a fun surprise they made me laugh and added an extra bit of charm to an already memorable listen.
