Alien Zoo by Deiri Di
I’ll be honest, I grabbed this book because the cover instantly gave me Inuyasha vibes, and I couldn’t resist. But
what I found inside completely blew me away. The story follows two human women
who are stolen from Earth and taken to another planet, only to be placed in a
zoo as “exotic creatures.” To the aliens there, they’re nothing more than
animals, something to be gawked at and contained. That setup alone had me
hooked.
Then comes the twist, one worker begins to
question everything. Maybe these strange, fragile beings from Earth are more than animals. Maybe they’re something…
intelligent. Sentient. And that’s where the story truly takes off.
From there, the emotional depth of this book
really shines. It’s not just an alien romance, it’s a story about compassion,
understanding, and the courage to see beyond what you’ve been taught. The MMC
absolutely stole my heart. He’s protective without being possessive, and his
quiet strength and patience made me melt. He recognizes that she’s his mate,
but he never takes what isn’t freely given. Instead, he earns her trust, step
by step, showing her that she has choices, that she’s free.
He even tells others that if the humans ever
wanted to leave, he wouldn’t stop them. That kind of respect, in an alien
romance? Chef’s kiss.
This story had everything I love about the
genre, the danger, the tenderness, the “us against the galaxy” tension. It’s
equal parts heartwarming and thrilling, with just enough emotional punch to
make you ache in the best way.
I finished the last page and immediately
wanted more. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next, if the next installment is anything like this
one, I’ll be first in line to grab it.
