My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Synopsis:
For the past ten years I’ve been a victim. A victim to my pack. A victim to my true mate, who rejected me in the most brutal of ways. And a victim to Shadow Beast, who used me for his own gains.
Or did he?
The beast of mystery never reveals his whole hand, but one thing is for sure… in my time with him, I've changed. Now I will no longer walk the path dictated by the powerful men in my life. Never again will I let my strength be taken from me.
I must evolve or die.
And we all know, with a choice like that, there’s really only one answer.
Here again is the new cover ↑ and can everyone say Shadow (Daddy) Below is the cover before the revamp. To be honest I love them both. ↓
(The library is everything! So, in love and I would fall in love with the person who gave me this world of knowledge.)
Anyways, to the review.
My Review:Did I just binge two books in one day? Absolutely. Do I regret it? Not even
a little. From the very first page of book one to the final heart-pounding
moment of book two, I was completely seated.
Jaymin once again proves that she’s a master of crafting intricate, interwoven
worlds that feel as real and alive as the characters living in them.
Let’s talk about book two, because wow, there’s
a lot to love. It picks up exactly where the first book left off, and
yes, that cliffhanger from book one? It got me. I had no choice but to dive
straight into book two that same night (sleep? Never heard of her). From the
first chapter, the action and emotional intensity hit full force. I won’t spoil
anything, but let’s just say this book had me feeling everything. The pain, the hope, the love, the rage, I was
right there with the characters, riding every wave of emotion.
Jaymin’s world-building continues to be
breathtaking. It’s so vivid that I could practically see the colors, smell the air, and imagine the unique
creatures that filled this world. Every setting felt like it had depth and
history. And what stood out even more in this installment was the focus on found family. The way the characters built
bonds, stood up for each other, and created a home out of chaos, hit me right
in the heart.
And then there’s love. Not some
destined-by-the-stars, easy kind of love, no, this was the fierce, messy,
hard-fought kind that makes you want to scream at the pages. The kind of love
that’s worth every battle. I also adored how unapologetically strong the female
characters were, warriors through and through, who didn’t care one bit if a man
told them what to do. They owned every scene they were in.
If you’re looking for a series that will leave
you on the edge of your seat, questioning what’s coming next, this is it. It has everything: action,
adventure, heartbreak, healing, and characters that will stay with you long
after you’ve closed the book. Jaymin’s storytelling is the kind that pulls you
in and refuses to let go, and honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
(Sigh) I am going to be lost after this series, and I hope that it doesn't put me into a book slump, but I feel it brewing! I do have three standalones I can get through! And Jaymin, please put me on your ARC readers list. I will read the Alphabet soup you made. I am in love with your writing and world building I don't think I could ever get enough.
