The Curse of Golden Blood

by T.S. Solace

Oh. My. Gods. This book completely stole my heart.

I was hooked from page one, no slow start, no confusion, just instant obsession. The plot pulled me in, the characters felt real, and the romance? Chef’s kiss. Miralyte and Zydar have that perfect enemies-to-lovers tension, slow-burn, fiery, and full of heart. I laughed, swooned, and cried (I cry a lot).

The worldbuilding is gorgeous without being overwhelming, the found family moments hit deep, and the twists had me gasping. I can’t believe this is the author’s debut, it reads like someone who’s been doing this for years.

This is easily one of my top reads of 2025, and I’ll be counting the days until book two drops. If you love fantasy romance with spice, danger, and characters who feel alive, please read this. You won’t regret it.

Night and the Dead Prince

by Brien Feathers

Review | Night and the Dead Prince by Brien Feathers

Returning to Feathers’s world feels like stepping into a frostbitten dream, beautiful, brutal, and impossible to escape. Night and the Dead Prince weaves betrayal, magic, and the kind of danger that whispers your name in the dark.

Feathers blurs the line between loyalty and survival until you don’t know who to root for, or why your heart hurts so much. The world is all frostbitten courts, haunted bloodlines, and magic that hums with danger. And the romance? A slow, messy, delicious descent into devotion and doom.

The pacing dips a little, but every quiet moment feels like the breath before the blade. And that ending—equal parts heartbreak and applause, proves Feathers lives to keep readers suffering (in the best way).

A darker, sharper sequel that cements Feathers as a master of emotional ruin.
If you love undead politics, tragic hearts, and slow-burns that hurt so good, welcome back to the madness. πŸ–€

Alchemy & Ashes by Amy Yorke

Alchemy & Ashes by Amy York

“Alchemy & Ashes” — A Spellbinding Ride You Won’t Want to End Baby, WTF! This book had me hooked from page one and completely wrecked by that cliffhanger. I’m so relieved it’s going to be a duet because there’s no way I can survive waiting too long for book two! Let me just say, I refuse to spoil anything because the twists and turns in this story? Chef’s kiss. There’s more than one, and each one hit harder than the last. I pride myself on being able to spot an evil character a mile away, and this book still had me second-guessing everyone. Alchemy & Ashes delivers exactly the kind of romantasy fix you’ve been craving. It’s marketed as enemies-to-lovers, but honestly? Maybe that’s true for Sylvie, because Ronan was gone for her the moment he felt her emotions through that door. Their connection was magnetic, intense, and impossible to look away from. The pacing? Perfect. The action? Nonstop. The plot? Oh, it’s plotting. And when the spice finally hit, whew, it was exactly the right moment, and it delivered! Also, can we talk about the shadow mommy energy? I loved Sylvie’s empathy and her incredible growth from start to finish. She’s powerful, flawed, and so easy to root for. I’m not just excited for book two, I’m fiending for it. If you’re searching for a story that’ll consume your weekend and leave you begging for more, Alchemy & Ashes is the one.

Rebirth of Order

by, D.D. Williams

Rebirth of Order is a New Adult dark fantasy romance packed with epic battles, meddling gods, and dangerously irresistible love interests. Expect multiple POVs, morally gray choices, and a heroine who’s done being Death’s favorite plaything. (Check TWs.)

She’s buried her best friend, lost her faith, and caught Death changing the rules. Now, vengeance is all that’s left. But when she enters Rebirth Academy, a school for deadly fae, vampires, and gods-in-training, she learns survival means becoming something more than mortal.

Enemies become allies. Allies become obsessions. And love? It’s just another kind of war.

Perfect for fans of Zodiac Academy, The Bonds That Tie, and dark, slow-burn why-choose chaos.

I ate up every second of this book!

The Serpent and the Silver Wolf

by Kristen Coar

This book feels like watching your favorite anime come to life, packed with action, emotion, and forbidden love that spans lifetimes.

Aimee is a fierce, unforgettable heroine, haunted by her past but still fighting for hope. I loved seeing her walls slowly come down around her squad, especially with the two complex, swoon-worthy men in her life. The chemistry? Off the charts.

The worldbuilding is rich, the emotions hit hard, and the story’s mix of destiny, war, and love kept me hooked from start to finish. Even with a few timeline twists that took a moment to track, this story absolutely delivers on heart, heat, and high stakes.

If you love anime-inspired fantasy with a strong heroine and epic romance, don’t miss this one!

 Claws & Cocktails

by Tabitha Slick

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Finally, a fantasy romance with a heroine my age! Zera, a nearly forty-year-old pixie and single mom, is done with men… until a blind date turns into a spy mission and a fake marriage with a dangerously charming werewolf.

I loved how real Zera felt, her struggles, sass, and strength made her so relatable. The single-mom angle brought a refreshing twist to the usual fated-mates trope. And Maverick? Total bad boy energy wrapped around a golden-retriever heart. Their chemistry crackled, their banter was perfection, and watching Zera step into her power was incredibly satisfying. Overall, Claws & Cocktails is a steamy, fun, midlife fantasy romp that feels like a well-earned treat for grown-up romantasy fans.

The Outlaw Witch of Sherwood

by Brittany Hansen

(Let's here it for the cover!!!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘)

⭐⭐⭐

A gender-bent Robin Hood wrapped in magic, Renna Hood has a premise that’s hard to resist. The first half drags with heavy worldbuilding and info-dumps, but once Renna escapes into Sherwood Forest, the story truly comes alive. The ever-blooming woods, clever fox companion, and found-family dynamics make for enchanting moments, and the second half delivers stronger pacing, richer tension, and a slow-burn romance, though the latter never quite sparks.

Renna’s journey is compelling in parts, especially her awakening to betrayal and self-discovery, but she often feels passive compared to Garen, the battle-hardened Sheriff of Nottingham, whose arc carries more weight and purpose. For a Robin Hood retelling, action and momentum felt lacking, and the romance could have used more depth.

That said, the Nordic- and Slavic-inspired worldbuilding is vivid and immersive, with blood magic, witchcraft, and lush folklore giving it a unique flavor. Renna Hood may not be flawless, but it offers enough charm, magic, and mystery to delight fans of dark fantasy and folkloric romance.

Chemical Souls by Roxana M. Rotaru

Can two broken people save each other, or will they destroy one another?

What if your soulmate knew your darkest secret before your first date?

Some people fear being alone. Others fear being known. Patrick thinks he’s tried everything to find love, until he discovers Chemical Souls, a company promising perfect matches through cutting-edge technology. When he meets Margaret Warner for his intake interview, he’s instantly drawn in. She seems to see straight through him… maybe even into the parts he keeps buried. By the time the questions end, Patrick doesn’t want to leave and neither does Margaret. But when their connection exposes the darkness beneath the surface, both will have to decide: is this love, or something far more dangerous?

Roxana M. Rotaru’s Chemical Souls is a striking departure from the warmth of The Man Who Feels Like Home. Here, Rotaru trades comfort for unease, crafting a dark, hypnotic exploration of love, guilt, and obsession. Patrick’s and Margaret’s connection is equal parts magnetic and unsettling, a psychological dance that asks: how much darkness can love forgive? What if the person who understands your worst secrets is just as broken as you are?

Rotaru’s writing hums with tension. Margaret’s chilling logic and Patrick’s spiraling fixation call to mind the obsessive energy of Caroline Kepnes’ You, though Chemical Souls favors quiet menace over gore. Every choice feels inevitable, every boundary dangerously thin. Trigger warnings for stalking, obsession, and death, but nothing gratuitous. Chemical Souls is dark romantic fiction at its most intimate and haunting, a love story that stares straight into the abyss and dares you to keep looking.

 The Ordeals by Rachel Greenlaw

This romantasy has everything, magic, danger, and heart. The worldbuilding is incredible, with a magic system divided into botanists, illusionists, and alchemists. Greenlaw explains it so beautifully that even a complex system feels effortless to understand.

Sophia DeWinter has spent her life bound to her cruel uncle, the Collector. Her only escape? Killmarth College, an elite academy where aspiring magic wielders must survive deadly trials known as the Ordeals. With her illusion magic faltering, Sophia teams up with Alden Locke,a powerful (and infuriatingly attractive) botanist, to stand a chance.

The story is fast-paced, emotional, and full of twists. I haven’t connected with a character this deeply in a while. The ending destroyed me, and I need book two yesterday.
