Carl's Doomsday Scenario by Matt Dinniman

Carl's Doomsday Scenario

by Matt Dinniman

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Spice Rating:  None. (Besides the AI
and his obsession with Carl's feet)

Blurb:

"The training levels have concluded. Now the games may truly begin."

The ratings and views are off the chart. The fans just can't get enough. The dungeon gets more dangerous each day. But in a grinder designed to chew up and spit out crawlers by the millions, Carl and Princess Donut need to work harder than ever just to survive.

They call it the Over City. A sprawling, once-thriving metropolis devastated by a mysterious calamity. But these streets are far from abandoned. An undead circus trawls the ruins. Murdered prostitutes rain from the sky. An ancient spell is finally ready to reveal its dark purpose.

Carl still has no pants.

They call it Dungeon Crawler World. For Carl and Donut, it's anything but a game.

(This cover first, cause it's what you get now.)

 My Review:

This is one of those series, where your husband tears through all the books and suddenly you’re under an unspoken deadline to catch up. Not because you aren’t enjoying them… but because apparently there’s a “reasonable” reading pace I’m supposed to match. That said, I’m still early in the series, so consider this a snapshot review.

Carl’s Doomsday Scenario, book two in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, takes a slightly slower approach than the explosive first installment, but don’t let that fool you. While the pacing eases up, the ending more than makes up for it, leaving me eager (and mildly stressed) to find out what chaos awaits Carl and Donut next.

This book is witty, wildly creative, and completely unhinged in the best way. The creatures are unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere, and the humor is so sharp and absurd it might make you question your own personality for laughing as hard as you do.

If you’re a fan of LitRPG fantasy, bizarre worlds, and unforgettable characters, especially a certain scene-stealing cat named Donut and her devoted sidekick, then dive in headfirst and enjoy the madness. Trust me… this series is going somewhere, and you’ll want to be along for the ride. 🐾🔥

(And... I really am in love with these covers! I hope someone
donates them!)
